Raya is a town and a nagar panchayat in Mathura district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Geography

Raya is located at coord|27.57|N|77.78|E| [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/36/Raya.html Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Raya] ] . It has an average elevation of 175 metres (574 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Raya had a population of 17,990. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Raya has an average literacy rate of 54%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 61%, and female literacy is 47%. In Raya, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age. Raya is located in Brijbhoomi. People in raya are mostly business dependents there are no government offices or big private companies. Its single market for near about 360 villages around it.
