Diehl Aerospace GmbH is a Joint venture between Diehl BGT Defence and Thales Group operating in the field of Avionics. The headquarters of the company are in Überlingen, Germany.
The company was founded in 2006 as result of the merger of Diehl Avionik Systeme GmbH and Diehl Luftfahrt Electronik.
As of 2009, Diehl Aerospace has approx. 1250 employees and a turnover revenue of €207 Million.

Involvement in major avionics programs
A380
In 2002, Diehl Aerospace (then Diehl Avionik Systeme) was chosen by Airbus for the following systems of A380:
- Doors and Slides Management System
- Slat Flap Control Computer.
- Cabin lighting with programmable multi-spectral LEDs
Moreover, in cooperation with Thales Group, Diehl Avionik Systeme ced to the development of other major A380 systems:
- The Cockpit display system [1],
- The Flight Control Unit (FCU),
- The Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA)
Others
Diehl is also involved in NH90 and Eurofighter Typhoon development.
