Preet Vihar is one of the prime residential as well as commercial areas in Delhi, India. It is situated in East Delhi on Vikas Marg.

Composition

Preet Vihar is another part of Delhi that is quite full of surprises. It is a well established colony in eastern part of Delhi. This place is quite famous for its shops and educational institutes that it houses. Apart from this, it has residential societies that offers very good accommodation.

Outlets of all famous brands are situated here with a variety of fashion collection on display. Innumerable restaurants and food joints dot this region. Crowded with number of small and big shops, this place is considered one of the best commercial hubs in Delhi.

Blocks

There are seven blocks in Preet Vihar, namely A-G and 'G' Block is the largest one with around 365-370 homes.

Popular Landmarks

There are many popular land marks in and around Preet Vihar, such as Karkardooma District Court, PSK ("Poorva Sanskrti Kendra"), Scope Tower, Gufa Wala Mandir(Temple), Park End Masjid, V3S Mall and so on.

Preet Vihar also acts as a hang out joint for many, with the likes of Domino's Pizza, Nirula's, Sagar Ratna, Saffron Court, Bikanerwala there.

There are many institutes(Coaching Centres, Language Institutes, Computer Institutes etc) in the locality. These include - Career Launcher, NIIT, Aptech, Ftech etc.

The Central Board of econdary Education (CBSE) building is an important landmark in Preet Vihar. It's their main headquarters in North India.

Connectivity

Anand Vihar Inter State Bus terminal (ISBT) is the nearest Bus Depot with it being at a distance of approximately 4 km (2.5 miles).

Currently the nearest Metro Station is Welcome, which is again at a distance of 5 km. Work is currently underway on the Preet Vihar line of the Metro, and should be completed by 2008.
