Rakestreet

Rakestreet

Rakestreet is located 3km south of Crossmolina in County Mayo, Ireland. It was famous for its fairs held up until the 1920s.

Killmurry Graveyard is located near the village.

It is serviced by St. Josephs Tech and Jesus and Mary Secondary School, both in Crossmolina.

The village is dominated by the Cawley family, who own the areas only businesses, a shop, a pub and a feed store. This has led to jokes among residents of nearby villages that Rakestreet has a total population of six people, two dogs and some horses.
