Todd Cauthorn (born
May 28 ,1971 inRoanoke, Virginia , U.S.) is an American former professionalbasketball player, most notable for his three spells atSheffield Sharks in theBritish Basketball League .After attending the
College of William & Mary , Cauthorn moved to Europe in 1993, signing forAustria n club ABC Graz. After just one season on the continent, Cauthorn transferring to newly promoted BBL franchise Sheffield Sharks, thus starting a love affair with theSteel City club that would span well over a decade.Cauthorn made his debut for the Sharks on
September 17 ,1994 against the visiting Sunderland Scorpions, and played for Sheffield until 2000 when he transferred toEuphony Bree ofBelgium . However, after just one season back inEurope , he was back inSheffield and resigned for the 2001-02 season. The following year, Todd moved west to sign for rival clubChester Jets , before moving back to Sheffield to play forEnglish Basketball League side Sheffield Arrows, the former development team of the Sharks.Todd rejoined the Sharks for a third spell in 2005, and after two more years at the club, he announced his retirement from the professional game at the end of the 2006-2007 season. Though concentrating on a new business venture, Cauthorn still plays recreationally whilst also co-commentating with Mike Shaft for
Setanta Sports British Basketball League coverage.He also has British
citizenship .
