John Hall (Yorkshire cricketer)

John Hall was a first class cricketer who played 4 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club. He appeared 3 times for the then pre-county club against Manchester in 1844 and 1845 and then reappeared for one county championship game against Nottinghamshire CCC at Trent Bridge in 1863.

A right arm slow underarm bowler, he took 13 wickets for 71 runs at an average of just 5.46. His best spell was 5 for 18 against Manchester in a low scoring game at Moss Lane on his debut in 1844. A right handed batsman, he scored 49 runs at 8.16 with a top score of 28 not out against Manchester in 1845.

Born on November 11, 1815 in Nottingham, he died on April 17, 1888 in South Retford, Nottinghamshire.
