Julian Raymond Gray (born September 21, 1979 in Lewisham, London) is an English football player, currently playing for Fulham on loan from Coventry City.

Playing career

Gray began his career with Arsenal as a trainee. After a few seasons he made the switch across London to join Crystal Palace for £500,000 in 2000. He is an attacking left winger and can also play as an auxiliary striker and lately has been learning full back duties so he can help out by playing in defence.

Following his move to Palace he was instrumental in The Eagles' success and played a major part in helping them achieve promotion in the 2003-04 season, despite missing the play-off final through suspension.

Despite his successes during that season the Lewisham-born midfielder spent a month on loan with Cardiff City.

However Gray was out of contract and, in June 2004, this particular Eagle flew the nest, signing for Birmingham City on a free transfer. He played a number of games in his first season in the Midlands and remained a key part of manager Steve Bruce's plans up until the 2005-06 season, but found himself out of the first-team after the Blues' promotion, and was released in May 2007.

Gray joined Coventry City on July 10, 2007. [cite news|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/coventry_city/6288702.stm|title=Coventry sign Birmingham's Gray|date=2007-07-10|accessdate=2007-07-10|publisher=BBC Sport]

He joined Fulham on a season-long loan on September 1, 2008. [cite web |url=http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2008/September/GraySigns.aspx |title=Gray signs |publisher=Fulham F.C. |date=2008-09-01 |accessdate=2008-09-01]
