He appeared in four Pro Bowls, and was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1960 NFL Expansion Draft.
Coaching
In 1974, he served as defensive line coach for the Philadelphia Bell of the World Football League. He also served as the line coach for the Atlanta Falcons.
Personal
His daughter, Pamela Gail Putnam (born 1952), was married from 1970-1971 to Michael Reagan, the eldest son of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
