He playedcollege football at theUniversity of Nebraska , and played professionally in theAmerican Football League for theHouston Oilers from 1961 through 1965. He was an American Football League All-Star in 1961, when the Oilers won their second American Football League Championship, and in 1962 and 1963. He had previously played in theNational Football League for theChicago Cardinals andDallas Cowboys . He was selected by theDallas Cowboys in the1960 NFL Expansion Draft .
