Sovetsky, Leningrad Oblast

Sovetsky ( _ru. Советский; _fi. Johannes) is an urban-type settlement on Karelian Isthmus, in Vyborgsky District of Leningrad Oblast, and a station of the Vyborg–Primorsk railroad. It is situated on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Vyborg. Until the Winter War and Continuation War, it had been the administrative center of the Johannes municipality of the Viipuri province of Finland.
