Pointe-Saint-Charles (known locally as simply The Point) is a neighbourhood in the borough of
Le Sud-Ouest in city ofMontreal ,Quebec ,Canada . It is located between theSaint Lawrence River and theLachine Canal .Pointe-Saint-Charles was one of Canada's first industrial slums. The neighbourhood is today one of the most ethnically diverse in Canada and in the World. It was an ethnic Irish Catholic enclave, home to many industrial workers in the 19th and 20th centuries. More recently, the neighbourhood has undergone
gentrification .The neighbourhood is served by the Charlevoix metro station.
In federal elections, Pointe-Saint-Charles is part of the
