South Fort Myers High School opened in 2005, and has quickly developed a rivalry with Estero. The two schools draw from the same pool of students, and many Estero athletes transferred to the new school when it opened.
*Fort Myers Senior High School is anInternational Baccalaureate high school inLee County, Florida and for several years was one of the only schools in Southern Lee County. *Estero High School has been known by graduated families for its well managed and excelent academics. Study has shown that the population of the school is mostly overacheivers and students trapped within the school zone. On average most Estero High School graduates completed college at FGCU or Edison College.

*When compared to rival schools South Fort Myers High School and Fort Myers Senior High School, Estero High School was placed as the second best Academic School or the three (FMHS first then EHS Second).
