The Santa Fe-Espanola Combined Statistical Area is made up of two counties in north central New Mexico. The statistical area consists of the Santa Fe Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Espanola Micropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, the CSA had a population of 170,482 (though a July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 183,782). Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 170,482 people, 67,526 households, and 43,617 families residing within the CSA. The racial makeup of the CSA was 69.43% White, 0.57% African American, 5.69% Native American, 0.70% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 19.64% from other races, and 3.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 54.80% of the population.

The median income for a household in the CSA was $35,818, and the median income for a family was $41,451. Males had a median income of $30,092 versus $25,002 for females. The per capita income for the CSA was $18,929.
