State Road 205 is a short north-south, largely rural surface highway in north-eastern Indiana. Although classified as north-south, it actually runs mostly north-easterly from its southern terminus at State Road 5 in South Whitley to its northern end with State Road 327 in Garrett.

As is typical of three-numbered state highways in Indiana, it has a 'parent' US or state route, in this case State Road 5.
