Todays Manama Club (Arabic: المنامة‎) is a football club based in Manama, Bahrain.[1] They play in the top division in Bahraini football.[citation needed]

From the inception of the Bahrain league in 1945 till the start of 1990s, Manama did not make an important impact on Bahraini football.[citation needed] While rivals Al Ahli were winning three national titles, Manama were struggling to maintain their status among the elite. However, Manama Club is most commonly the club representing Bahrain in Asian soccer competitions; the last being the Asian Champions League. Manama Club will be the first Bahraine team to compete in the AFC Cup, as winners of Bahrain Super Cup. Manama Club has 10 trophies next to their name in the Bahraine Club Football history. Manama Club has the second biggest fan base in Bahrain after al Shabab club. Manama Club play in the Bahrain National Stadium which is the largest stadium in Bahrain.

History

Manama Club name means "Blue Bird" Manama Sporting Club was associated in Bahrain 1946, located at Al Manama. Manama Club had an important role in changing the view of sport in Bahrain. Manama Club was the first Bahrain soccer team to play in the Asian competitions in the Asian Club Championship 1971. The club is well known as one of the richest in terms of wealth as it sports department specializes in buying and selling of young players from Africa and Europe. Manama Club is at the final stage of its Internatioanl football Academy and Summer camps which will see hundreds of young telent from Africa, the Carrabians, Europe and Americans.

And contributed to the Arab Club in raising high the banner of Bahrain with the participation of players in the national teams in international forums. Also had a prominent role in pushing a lot of players old and retired to practice, arbitration and management. He has held a large number of its members in leadership positions with trade domestic and foreign. The club is currently in talks with big European clubs for partnership deals.
