Witkowski won a bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia in the Men's K-4 1000 m competition with crewmates Adam Seroczyński, Dariusz Białkowski and Grzegorz Kotowicz. He also won three medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a silver (K-4 1000 m: 1994) and two bronzes (K-4 500 m and K-4 1000 m: both 1995).
