In the
1992 Summer Olympics inBarcelona ,Spain , Kotowicz won a bronze medal along with Dariusz Bialkowski in the Men's 1000 metres K2 competition. In the2000 Summer Olympics inSydney ,Australia , Kotowicz earned a bronze medal in the Men's 1000 metres K4 competition along withDariusz Białkowski ,Adam Seroczyński andMarek Witkowski .World Championships
Kotowicz attained a total of three silver medals and five bronze medals in World Championship competition. He garnered a silver medal in 1994 in the Men's 1000 meter K4 competition and then went on to win three bronze medals in 1995 (Men's 500 metres K4, Men's 1000 metres K2 and Men's 1000 meter K4). The 1997 World Championships saw another triple-medal haul for Kotowicz, as he took the silver medal spot on the podium in two individual events (Men's 200 metres K1 and Men's 500 metres K1) while picking up a bronze in the Men's 1000 metres K2. Kotowicz's final World Championship medal came in 1999 with a bronze medal-winning performance in the men's 500 metres K1.
European Championships
Kotowicz won three silver medals at the 1997 European Championship (Men's 200 metres K1, Men's 500 metres K1 and Men's 1000 metres K2). At the 1999 edition, he earned the top spot on the podium along with teammates Białkowski, Seroczyński and Witkowski after the group emerged victorious in the Men's 1000 metres K4. Kotowicz also took second place in the Men's 500 metres K1, good enough for a silver medal.
Post-Competition Career
On January 8, 2005, Grzegorz Kotowicz was appointed to the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Athletes Commission. [1]
