- LiveGraph
LiveGraph is an open-source real-time data series plotter system developed at Monash University.
The main objective of the LiveGraph system is to provide an efficient tool for first-stage exploratory data analysis.
LiveGraph's graphical user interface allows selecting which data series are to be displayed very quickly and conveniently. Scaling options allow for a quick comparison of data series that have different scales by transforming the data onto a common scale. While lacking more advanced statistical analysis functions, LiveGraph is an efficient tool for initial and visual data analysis.
In addition, LiveGraph automatically updates the graphs, therefore allowing to monitor the data in real-time, while it is being produced by an application, such as a simulation. Written in Java, the system can run in any environment. The system provides a Java class library that can be used to create and manage large data files that can be read by the plotter. For developers using other programming languages, a detailed data file specification is provided.
LiveGraph’s homepage provides a full documentation and a set of tutorials on how to use LiveGraph within third party software. The system is available under a BSD-style licence.
