Lester Jenkins is the husband of
Mary Jenkins and father ofBrenda Jenkins , and the entire Jenkins' clan lives in aWashington, D.C. apartment building , although it was not confirmed in the entire series run. Lester was born in 1940 somewhere in theUnited States , the names of his parents were unknown. Before Lester married and met Mary, he had a history of short-lived girlfriends including Trish Lamar, who was a waitress at a localdiner She dated Lester for a short time, however in one episode it states that on the actual date onJanuary 17 ,1962 , Lester was driving an car for his then "girlfriend" Trish, and without prior notice led to a warrant, however, Mary, was veryfurious that Lester never told her that he was hold up for driving a car that his "girlfriend" Trish drove and own.Then the following year came in 1963 and Lester and Mary had gotten
engaged to each other. They married and moved toWashington, D.C. . During the mid 1960s, Lester found all types ofpart-time jobs, while Mary was ahousewife , and in the early 1960s, Lester discoved success when he became aconstruction worker , although he was laid off almost every single job, Lester still managed to came out on top. In early 1971, he and Mary became parents when Mary gave birth to her only child, adaughter ,Brenda Jenkins . Around the years Brenda had grown older, Lester and Mary and their daughter Brenda all moved to aworking class neighborhood inWashington, D.C. , and into anapartment building numbered "227".Now set in the 1980s, in many episodes of the entire "227" series, Lester started not to notice his wife, Mary, and was unaware that Mary wanted to re-create their first anniversary. Lester, basically was starting to notice Mary and her love for him. Lester had graduated from
college (the college he had attended was unknown), and still married to his love, Mary and both took full responsibility to raise their only child, Brenda.
