Tremarctinae is a subfamily of bears containing one living representative, the Spectacled Bear ("Tremarctos ornatus") of South America, and at least five extinct species: the related Florida Cave Bear ("Tremarctos floridanus"), the short-faced bears of "Arctodus" ("A. pristinus" and "A. simus"), and the genus Arctotherium (including "A. latidens" and "A. brasilense").cite web
