Results from the 1997 Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix held at Hungaroring on August 10, 1997. The race was particularly memorable for the performance of Damon Hill, who was leading the race after the final round of pit stops but experienced a throttle linkage failure in the last few laps and was overtaken by Jacques Villeneuve on the final lap. The problem, which denied the Arrows team its first ever win, proved to have been caused by the failure of a washer valued at 50 pence.

Johnny Herbert scored his only podium of the season, while Shinji Nakano equalled his career-best finish. Gianni Morbidelli returned for Sauber in place of Norberto Fontana after missing three races through injury.
