Notes
*Nigel Mansell was black-flagged after he missed his team's box in the pitlane, drove past it and engaged reverse gear to drive backwards into it. Mansell ignored the black flag and tried to overtake Ayrton Senna, resulting in a collision and retirement for both. This damaged Senna's title chances, especially since rival Alain Prost came in second place.
*150th Grand Prix start: Alain Prost
*First podium: Onyx
*Only time that a Minardi led a lap, with Pierluigi Martini, in F-1 history.
*Last start: Coloni
