Tree Hill

Tree Hill is a fictional town where the CW television series "One Tree Hill" takes place. Tree Hill is a small harbour, located in New Brunswick County, North Carolina, along the Atlantic Ocean, although the town itself may either not be that small, or it may be a suburb of a larger city as "downtown" is mentioned as being "a thirty minute drive" away. [cite web|title=Television Without Pity: One Tree Hill TV Series|url=http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/Shows/One-Tree-Hill/Stories/Every-Night-Is-Another-Story?currentPage=3|accessdate=2008-01-19] However, at least at one point it was officially named "Town of Tree Hill," as shown on the police cars, and this might be indicative of a smaller size than a city would be. Cove City was, as of 2010 (the "current" time in the "One Tree Hill" time-frame), in the New Brunswick County Conference (in high-school basketball) with Tree Hill (and the fact that Tree Hill played Cove City at least three times prior to this may indicate it was in the same conference prior to this), probably indicating that Cove City is not in Craven County in the One Tree Hill universe, but New Brunswick County. The former mayor is Dan Scott. "One Tree Hill" is actually filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Neighborhoods

Westover is apparently or probably a less affluent, run-down or undesirable (or it was at least so regarded by Dan Scott) neighborhood in, or section of, Tree Hill. Tree Hill High School

Tree Hill High School, or Tree Hill High, is Tree Hill's high school for grades 9-12.
Erica Marsh was Student Council President, until Brooke Davis took over the role.

Whitey Durham attended Tree Hill High during the late 1950s. In the late 1980s, Dan Scott, Keith Scott and Karen Roe attended, along with Sheri Smith. In the mid-2000s Lucas Scott, Nathan Scott, Peyton Sawyer, Haley Scott, Brooke Davis, Mouth McFadden,Tim Smith, Skills Taylor, Bevin Mirskey, Junk Moretti and Ferguson "Fergie" Thompson, Shelly Simon, Erica Marsh, Gigi Silveri and Glenda Farrell.
Jimmy Edwards originally attended until he took members of the school hostage with a hand gun. He then killed himself. Abby Brown also attended until that day, as she witnessed the murder of Keith Scott and was traumatised. Jake Jagielski attended until he moved to Savannah, and Tim Smith relocated to a school for "slow" people. Felix and Anna Taggaro briefly attended. Rachel Gatina attended during senior year, and was later expelled for stealing calculus exams. Chase Adams also attended the later part of senior year.

Extracurricular

*The Tree Hill Ravens are the school’s basketball team. Lucas Scott, Nathan Scott, Antwon "Skills" Taylor, Jake Jagielski , Tim Smith and Quentin Fields have all played for the team. The team won the State Championship in 2006. Coach Whitey Durham ran the team for 35 years. The current Coach is Lucas Scott, with Antwon "Skills" Taylor and Nathan Scott as assistant coaches.
*The Tree Hill Ravens cheerleaders are cheerleaders for the school's basketball team. Brooke Davis was head cheerleader. Peyton Sawyer, Haley James Scott, Rachel Gatina and Bevin Mirskey have all been on the squad. Each year they compete in the Sparkel Classic by Secret, and lose to the Bear Creek Warriors; however Brooke has won an award for best choreography.
*Whitey Durham Field House, the basketball venue of the high school, named after Whitey Durham. It’s the training place of the Ravens basketball players and of the Ravens cheerleaders, as well as the match place.
*The school evidently has a football team, as it has a football field, and a football pin is seen on Quentin's Letterman's Jacket in several Season 5 episodes.
*Clean Teens were an organization ran by Shelley Simon. Members took a vow of celibacy. There motto was "virgins for life", as virgins until marriage didn't sound as effective.
*The Tutoring Center is the school's tutoring system. Students are paid to tutor other students who need help. The tutors are given a copy of the teacher's tests so that they know how to prepare their student.
* Wrestling is also a sport at Tree Hill although the team was never seen Jimmy Edwards talked about a wrestler

Current places

*Thud Magazine, a local newspaper which published Peyton’s drawings.
*TRIC, the nightclub opened by Deb and Karen. Peyton ran her own all ages night. Many famous singers played there, including The Wreckers, Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy, Jack's Mannequin and Lupe Fiasco. Show characters Chris Keller and Haley James Scott have also played there.
*The River Court, where Lucas and his early friends (Skills, Junk, Fergie, etc...) loved playing streetball. During the games, Mouth McFadden and Jimmy Edwards played the commentators.
*New Brunswick County Airport, the local airport, which is apparently located in Tree Hill (it may possibly, technically be located outside city or village limits) as there is a "Welcome to Tree Hill" sign there.
*Wendy's: it is possible that a Wendy's is or was located in Tree Hill as attendees at Haley's bridal shower drive past it
*Port City Java: it is possible that a Port City Java is or was located in Tree Hill as Keith Scott is seen carrying one of its paper cups when filling in for his brother at Dan Scott Motors
*Clothes over Bros: is Brooke's own clothing company, and she opened a store in the same spaces as Karen's Cafe where located.

Former places

*Karen’s Café, opened by Karen thanks to her paternal grandfather Eugene while she was pregnant with her son Lucas. Haley served as a waitress and Deb Scott, who has taken Karen's place while she was in Italy, later joined them. Gavin DeGraw and Sheryl Crow played there. It is now closed and has become the site of a Clothes Over Bro's ["sic"] store.
*Scott Motors, owned by car salesman and former Tree Hill mayor Dan Scott, set on fire by Deb in an attempt to kill Dan. In the Season 3 premiere, Deb said it was "nearly rebuilt" and Dan was going back to work, but it hasn't been shown on the show since.
*Keith Scott’s Body Shop, owned by late mechanic Keith Scott, but Dan later took over his business.

Events

* Burning Boat Festival, an annual festival that takes place in October.
