Quagmire (Jerome Meyers) is a fictional character, owned by Marvel Comics who is a native of the universe of the Squadron Supreme. He first appeared in "Squadron Supreme" #5 (Jan 1986) and was created by Mark Gruenwald.

Fictional character biography

Quagmire was a member of the Institute of Evil. Like the rest of the Institute members, he was subjected to the behavior-modification process, and elected to full membership in the Squadron Supreme.

After saving twenty factory workers from a gas leakage, Quagmire went into a coma. In the hospital, he was sucked into the hole in his brain that is a portal into the dimension from which his dark matter originates.

Quagmire eventually came to Earth-616 via the Nexus of All Realities, through the body of a seemingly pregnant Man-Thing, ["Marvel Comics Presents" #29] where he battled Quasar.

Powers and abilities

Quagmire has the ability to draw into this dimension and manipulate a form of the darkforce akin to a thick, dark, viscous substance resembling tar.
