Phi Persei (φ Persei / φ Per) is a Class G8III, fourth-magnitude star in the constellation Perseus. It is, on rare occasions, called by the proper name "Seif" or "Alseiph" (Arabic السيف "al-sa'if" meaning "the sword"), derived from السيف و الأنفال "al-sa'if wa al-anfal", meaning "The Sword and the Spoils", which was the title of an ancient Arab asterism between Andromeda and Perseus. Due to its isolation and distance from Cassiopeia, Andromeda and Perseus, John Flamsteed never took thought to assign a number and constellation to Phi Persei.

Phi Persei is a blue giant star of class B2 and an apparent magnitude of 4.01. Phi Persei is a variable Star with rapid variations in its brightness and spectrum. The Phi Persei stellar system is located about 716 light-years from Earth.
