The Ghost Behind the Wall

Plot summary

The book is about David, a young British boy who lives in an apartment complex in London called Mahogany Villa with his dad. One day after school he realizes that he can fit into the vents, which lead all over the complex. He sneaks around in the vents doing all sorts of mischievous things, from taking/destroying things, and confusing people until they believe they are mad. But he is not alone in the vents and soon finds the ghost who isn't sure who he, himself is, but he definitely has a grudge against a senile old man in the apartments, Mr. Alveston. After David is caught for stealing, he and Mr. Alveston slowly become friendly. One day Mr. Alveston is attacked, and David is the only suspect. Mr Alveston believes David that he's innocent, but the police still hold him as a suspect. After looking through many of Mr. Alveston's old photos, David finally realizes that the ghost is the ghost of Mr. Alveston's childhood. David captures the ghost and returns it to Mr. Alveston, and Mr. Alveston dies in peace.
