Linda Lapointe (born in Laval, Quebec) is a politician from Quebec, Canada, and the Action démocratique du Québec (ADQ) Member of the National Assembly for the electoral district of Groulx.

Background

Lapointe has a college diploma in health sciences from the CEGEP Ahuntsic. She also went at the Université de Montréal and receive a bachelor's degree in business administration. Before her election, she managed and owned a Provigo grocery store and was responsible for the accountancy of it. She also worked for the Association des détaillants en alimentation du Québec (Quebec food retailers association) as a treasurer, for the Boisbriand Economic Development Committee and for Emploi-Quebec. She was also a candidate in the Boisbriand Municipal in 2005.

Provincial Legislature

Lapointe was first elected to the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2007 election. At one point, she had considered running for the Liberals, but eventually joined the ADQ. Liberal incumbent Pierre Descoteaux, finished third with 27% of the vote. Lapointe took office on April 12, 2007 and was named the critic for economic development and the Montreal region until 2008. Federal Politics

She campaigned on behalf of local Conservative candidate Claude Carignan during the federal election of 2008.
