Miyazaki gubernatorial by-election, 2007: Miyazaki Prefecture held a gubernational by-election on January 21, 2007. Former governor Tadahiro Ando was arrested for bid-rigging. Independent comedian Hideo Higashikokubaru (running under the name "Higashi Sonomanma") won.
