It was the third track on the band's first album, There Is A Moth In Your Chest, released in 2007 on Dovecote Records. Some copies of the 7" single were packaged with pre-orders of There Is A Moth In Your Chest, as a bonus for fans who ordered the album early.

Singer Jonathan Visger has stated that My My is about the apocalypse and the lyrical content features vignettes from the end of the world.
