South Wales where it was found) was agenus of basal sauropodomorphdinosaur from theLate Triassic ofUnited Kingdom . It is based on a partial juvenile skeleton once thought to belong to "Thecodontosaurus ".History
In 2003, Adam Yates named the new species "Thecodontosaurus caducus" for a skull and partial skeleton (neck, partial
shoulder girdle , and humeri) of a juvenile dinosaur, with additional material known for it. This material had been known in the scientific literature since 1984, and had been used to represent the genus "Thecodontosaurus".cite journal |last=Yates |first=Adam M. |year=2003 |title=A new species of the primitive dinosaur "Thecodontosaurus" (Saurischia: Sauropodomorpha) and its implications for the systematics of early dinosaurs |journal=Journal of Systematic Palaeontology |volume=1 |issue=1 |pages=1–42 |doi=10.1017/S1477201903001007 ] However, changed understanding of the relationships and characteristics of basal sauropodomorphs (also known asprosauropod s) has led Peter Galton, Yates, and D. Kermack to give "T. caducus" its own genus.cite journal |last=Galton |first=Peter M. |authorlink=Peter Galton |coauthors=Yates, Adam M; and Kermack, D. |year=2007 |title="Pantydraco" n. gen. for "Thecodontosaurus caducus" YATES, 2003, a basal sauropodomorph dinosaur from the Upper Triassic or Lower Jurassic of South Wales, UK. |journal=Neues Jahrbuch für Geologie und Paläontologie - Abhandlungen |volume=243 |issue=1 |pages=119–125 |doi=10.1127/0077-7749/2007/0243-0119 ]Paleobiology
As a basal sauropodomorph, "Pantydraco" would have been an
omnivore , probably mostly bipedal.cite book |last=Galton |first=Peter M. |authorlink=Peter Galton |coauthors=and Upchurch, Paul |editor=Weishampel, David B.; Dodson, Peter; and Osmólska, Halszka (eds.)|title=The Dinosauria |edition=2nd |year= 2004|publisher=University of California Press |location=Berkeley |isbn=0-520-24209-2 |pages=232-258 |chapter=Prosauropoda]References
