SST Public School Rashidabad

SST Public School Rashidabad is a public school located at Tando Allahyar, Sindh, Pakistan. The school started in 2005, and is designed on the same lines as PAF Public School Sargodha.

History

In 1998, Sargodha Old Boys Association formed a non-profit organization called Sargodhians Spirit Trust (SST). The aim of SST was to set up boarding schools that would provide quality education to students from all over Pakistan and at the same time allow underprivileged deserving students to participate through a program of scholarships. The Board of Trustees of the Sargodhian Spirit Trust (SST) then entered into a joint venture with the Rashid Memorial Welfare Trust (RMWO) for the creation and operation of the SST Public School at Rashidabad(The Welfare City of Sindh) in Tando Allayar District of Sindh. In June 2001, a memorandum of understanding was signed with RMWO, in the presence of the Governor of Sindh for the execution of the project. Finally, the first batch of students joined the school for the year 2005.The land and infrastructure facilities were provided by RMWO,Rashidabad, Tando Allahyar.SST Public School was a fantastic addition to the 'welfare city of Rashidabad' as it has other nice projects including general hospital, orphange, YK Academy, dispensary, Islamic digital resource center etc more details available at www.rashidabad.org

Mission

The school is founded on the premise that each human being is a person of worth. Through learning, experience and service to the community, the school educates young people to become responsible citizens and leaders, both of Pakistan and the world, committed to the ideals of justice, understanding and co-operation, and to the implementation of these ideals through action and personal example.

Academic

The school program is spread over five years. Students are admitted at the start of year 9 and follow the foundation year. During this time, the aim is to raise those students coming from a variety of feeder schools to the same level of skill and prepare them for the following two-year course. Thus, years 10 and 11 leads to qualifications in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), a University of Cambridge course equivalent to the old O level. Years 12 and 13 culminate in the A level which is key to entering university level education, both in Pakistan and the wider world. Three full reports are sent home each year to enable parents to monitor their son's progress and to stimulate discussion at home, bringing the school and the family together in a partnership through which the student's all-round development can flourish. The School offers guidance to 11 different subjects and career choice at appropriate stages of the program.
