"Thais" sometimes known as dog winkles, is a genus of medium to large predatory sea snails with an operculum, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Muricidae, the rock shells.

Habitat

"Thais" species live in rocky environments close to shore or in the intertidal zone.

hell description

The shell is generally squat, short-spired, and solid, with a large body whorl. The sculpture varies according to the species, but it generally consists of ribs, riblets, nodules, and tubercles.

The shell length is from about 2 to 13 cm, depending on the species.

Life habits

These animals are predatory, like almost all the muricids.
