- National Mission on Power Electronics Technology
NaMPET is a national mission programme launched in November 2004 by the Department of Information Technology(DIT) under Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. This five year programme is implemented through the Nodal Centre at the
Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Thiruvananthapuram . Premier Academic Institutions in the country, Manufacturing Industries and User Industries of Power Electronics Systems participate in this programme. A National Steering Committee comprising of eminent experts from different agencies and institutions in India guides the activities of NaMPET.Participating Agencies
Nodal Centre
A Nodal Centre for this programme is established at
Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC ), Trivandrum, embedded in the Power Electronics Group of the Centre. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Thiruvananthapuram (C-DAC(T)), (formerly ER&DCI), is a Centre of Excellence in Electronics and Information Technology under C-DAC, Pune, a Scientific Society of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. The Centre undertakes Application-oriented Research, Design and Development in Electronics so as to generate state-of-the-art, producible, marketable and field maintainable products and systems. The technology themes of the centre are Power Electronics, Control & Instrumentation, Hardware Design, Broadcast & Communication, Strategic Electronics, and Software Development and Training. The Power Electronics Group has wide experience of developing successful PE products/ systems and a very good industry interaction by way of transfer of technologies, field implementations etc. It has very close association with reputed Academic Institutions likeIISc andIITs .----Acacdemic Institutions
