Halle Vargas Sullivan is a
U.S. child actor fromFayetteville, North Carolina . She is most noted for her current portrayal of Young Nala in the Broadway production of "The Lion King".At age seven Halle got her start as a professional actress at the Cape Fear Regional Theatre in Fayetteville. Several members of her family had previously been active in the theatre; she auditioned for a part in a production of "The Wizard of Oz" and won the role despite initial nervousness. She also appeared productions of "
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever " at the theatre, among other shows.While attending Loyd Auman Elementary School as a nine-year-old fourth-grader, Halle travelled with her family to
Atlanta, Georgia in September, 2006 to audition for the Broadway version of "The Lion King". One of 342 children competing for four roles, she won the part of Young Nala, friend of Simba, the heir to the Lion King's throne. She began appearing in the production onFebruary 28 ,2007 at theMinskoff Theatre inNew York City , and was under contract for a six-month run throughAugust 26 . This run was later extended.
