Kongskrona is the highest of the two peaks on Vinnufjellet, its neighbour peak is Dronningkrona. The peak lies directly above Sunndalsøra, at sea level to the southwest. To the north is Innerdalen.

The top of the mountain is actually a glacier called "Vinnubreen" or "Vinnufonna".
