Jerry Kupcinet

Jerry Kupcinet is an American television director and producer. Kupcinet has directed shows such as 20/20, ABCs Home Show, The Mother/Daughter Beauty Pageant, That's Incredible!, The Live Aid Concert, The Dating Game, The Richard Simmons Show, Entertainment Tonight and many others. He is the son of legendary Chicago Sun-Times Columnist, Irv Kupcinet and brother to the late actress Karyn Kupcinet.

Kupcinet is credited with the highest rated halfhour period in television history when, in 1986, he produced and directed the Jerry Lewis Telethon and created a three-way-split between the MD Telethons adhoc network, ABCs Good Morning America and the Today Show on NBC. This gave the Telethon a record breaking 65 share.

Kupcinet has produced and directed infomercials for Susan Powter, Phil TynesWork Outs”, and commercials for Richard Simmons.

Kupcinet was credited with creating the look and formula for the popular syndicated courtroom show Judge Judy. In 2000 he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his work on Judge Judy.[1]
