Starting at SR 40 in Ormond Beach [http://www.milebymile.com/main/United_States/Florida/State_40/United_States_Florida_road_map_travel_guides.html] , it starts out as a four-lane divided road. Immediately, it enters
unincorporated Volusia County for a short time and enters Daytona Beach. Williamson Boulevard transforms into a two-lane road and intersects two roads, CR 4019 and SR 430. It enters a built-up urban area as it approaches US 92 and the Daytona International Speedway. CR 4009 is now four lanes wide and starts to form the western border ofDaytona Beach International Airport . It meets the Belleview Avenue Extension, then SR 400. CR 4009 enters a rural landscape and again becomes two lanes wide. It crosses I-95 to CR 421, the southern terminus of the county road. This is the temporary southern terminus, because CR 4009 is planned to be extended to SR 44 as Airport Road through Samusula-Spruce Creek into New Smyrna Beach.Major intersections
