"Anjaneya" (2003) ( _ta. ஆஞ்சநேயா) is a Tamil film directed by Maharajan. The film stars Ajith, Meera Jasmine, Raghuvaran, Ramesh Khanna, and Sarala. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Mani Sharma.

Plot

DCP Paramaguru (Ajith) an efficient police officer who fights with the scum of the society. He later masquerades as a thief to infiltrate into the underworld. The bad guys are surprised to find that Paramguru is the DCP, out to get them. So they all gang up against him. In this process a thrilling encounter takes place between the good and the evil. Paramaguru is helped in his fight against injustice by Divya (Meera Jasmine) who falls in love with him.

*Initially scheduled for release in late 2002, this film was deferred multiple times until its release in early 2003. It opened in 210 screens worldwide. *The film's Telugu rights were sold to Dr. Rajasekar for astonishing Rs.8.8 million, reports "Galatta.com"
*Ajith, who was then at the peak of his career, was paid a whopping salary of almost Rs.55 million for this extravagant venture. But he later waived this sum almost fully when the box office reports did not match expectations.
