Cittadino attended Towson University where he received honorable mention All-American his senior year.

Cittadino was originally drafted by the Colorado Mammoth in the National Lacrosse League, but did not play in 2007 due to injury. He was acquired by Boston with Sean Morris as Brian Langtry was traded back to the Mammoth following the 2008 NLL expansion draft.
