The Giants won the series 4 games to 1. Wrona enjoyed no success in the series, going 0-for-5 with 3 strikeouts while appearing in 2 games. After 1989, Wrona couldn't seem to stick on a major league roster, never logging more than 16 games in any further season at the game's top level.
