Felice Mechelle Avey (born in Odessa, Texas) is an African-American author. Avey founded the now-defunct Multicultural Writers Group on AOL.[citation needed] After the group disbanded, Avey completed her first novel: A Lifetime Loving You, which she self-published under the Cadeau imprint for Yeva Corporation.[1] Avey's second book: Ms. Thang's Guide to Fly was also published under the Yeva Corporation banner, but with the pseudonym of Aine A. Thang.[2] Ms. Avey's third book, Deeply, was published in 2002.[3]

Personal life
Felice Mechelle Avey (née Wafer) was born in Odessa, TX to L.C. and Pat Wafer. Her parents divorced when she was in preschool. She was raised by her mother who worked as a secretary for the Ector County Independent School District. She was the sixth of eight children. A graduate of Permian High School (of Friday Night Lights fame), she attended Odessa College, Texas Tech University, and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, majoring in Radio/Television. Avey's first job was as a copywriter for news/radio station, KRIG. Later she worked for KOCV, a Public Broadcasting Station. Avey returned to writing after the birth of her first child. The mother of two, Avey is married to consultant and writer, Bryant Avey.[citation needed]
