Gavin Castleton is a singer/songwriter from Providence, Rhode Island. Originally known for his work with Gruvis Malt as keyboardist and singer, Castleton has gone on to release 4 full length albums (Hypotenuse, Dark Age, Grace Land and For the Love of Pete) and 3 EPs (FortNightShift EP [with One Drop] , Hospital Hymns, and A Bullet, A Lever, A Key). He has also released two full-length albums with action-adventure rock trio Ebu Gogo.

Other Projects

Castleton is a founding member of RI band Gruvis Malt, with whom he has released 5 full length albums as well as a number of various independently-released EPs.

He is also currently recording and performing with GM-offspin Ebu Gogo (action/adventure band) (also featuring Gruvis Malt members Brendon Bell and Justin Abene) who have released one EP entitled "Chase Scenes 1-14" and one full length LP entitled "Worlds".

In 2006, Castleton collaborated with playwright Cyrus Leddy to release the bizarre spoken-word album Grace Land [ [http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5584121 NPR Music: Gavin Castleton & Cyrus Leddy: 'The Good Night's Sleep' ] ] which chronicles the mundane life of Gary Trivoli, a clerk at a Staples store, including intimate details of his relationship with his girlfriend and his obsession with Seinfeld. Castleton performed the narration, which was adapted from a series of interviews that Leddy conducted with Trivoli.

Castleton regularly records and performs with several bands and musicians, including One Drop (with whom he recorded the "Fortnightshift" EP and One Drop's second full-length album, Love is Life), Paranoid Social Club, Club D'Elf, and Facing New York. He performed at the annual SXSW festival in 2007 [ [http://2007.sxsw.com/music/showcases/band/38750.html south by southwest festivals + conferences ] ] , showcasing the Hospital Hymns EP.

He has just released A Bullet, A Lever A Key, a progressive hip hop album telling the story of his life backwards, from 2054 to present day. His blog, The Great Consolidation features entries from the future that expound on the storyline of A Bullet, A Lever, A Key and discuss his upcoming full-length album "Home" to be released on the indie label Five One Inc.
