His position was midfielder and featured in the 1993 Copa América [ [http://www.rsssf.com/tables/93safull.html#rosters rsssf: Copa América 1993 squads] ] inEcuador and the1994 FIFA World Cup in theUnited States .Borelli began his career at Platense in 1980, he soon came to the attention of River Plate and signed for the Argentine giants in 1983. In his time at River he helped the club to win the 1985-1986 Primera, their first
Copa Libertadores , the Copa Intercontinental and theCopa Interamericana . In 1987 he left River to joinRacing Club de Avellaneda . In 1991 he moved toMexico to play forUANL Tigres but in 1992 he returned to Argentina to play forClub Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro where he won the Clausura 1995 tournament.
