"Pseudomonas citronellolis" is a Gram-negative bacterium that is used to study the mechanisms of pyruvate carboxylase [Seubert W., Remberger U. (1961) Purification and mechanism of action of pyruvate carboxylase from "Pseudomonas citronellolis". Biochem Z. 334:401-14. PMID 13750403] . It was first isolated from forest soil, under pine trees, in northern Virginia [cite journal |author=Seubert, W. |title=Degradation of isoprenoid compounds by micro-organisms. I.
