Location

It is about 20 kilometers from district headquarters Chittoor, and 20 kilometers from Palamaner, and is about 16 kilometers from Kanipakam, famous for the temple of Lord Ganesha. The distance from Bangarupalem to the temple Tirumala Tirupathi is around 110 kilometers. Bangarupalem is located on the National Highway (NH4) which connects Bangalore and Chennai. Near Bangarupalem there exists an old temple named Mogileeshwara or Mogili, a temple of Shiva.

Businesses

The main business in Bangarupalem is the trading of crops produced by nearby villages, particularly mangoes. Bangarupalyam is prolific in its production and export of mango pulp to other countries. In addition, the village plays an important part in politics. From the village, mangoes are exported to all over India, including Jalgoan, Pune, Nasik, Jamshedpur, and Bharampur.Also,Gomathi Spinners, the thread makers gives employment to the villagers in and around Bangarupalyam.

History

Bangarupalyam is famous for the Zamindari family and their power throughout history. In addition, Bangarupalyam has been ruled by Palegars (also known as Palaekari, Naikers, Nayunivaru and Ekira) for centuries and survived through British rule in India.

Bangarupalem is also a center for education to the surrounding villages with six high schools and two junior colleges. It also contains 3 Nationalized Banks and is a Lakki town.
