Kaul Singh Thakur

Kaul Singh Takhur (born 23 November, 1945) is the Irrigation and Public Health Minister of Himachal Pradesh, India.

Life and career

Kaul Singh Thakur was born in Village Sambal district Mandi, the son of Lachhman Singh Thakur. He has done B.A. at Punjab University, Chandigarh. He got married to Chinta Devi.The name of his second wife is Padma thakur. He is political and legal practitioner. He organised student's union in Government College, Mandi and got elected as its president. He also attended leadership, mountaineering and social service courses as senior Officer of National Cadet Corps. He is one of the C certificate holder in NCC. He represented Himachal in Republic Day parade at Delhi in 1967. He also performed traffic duties during the time of Pak-aggression in 1965.
He started his political career as a member of the "Panchayat Samiti", Mandi "Sadar". He was elected its chairman in 1973 and remained at the post till 1977. He did many developmental works at Panchayat level.
He got elected to the State Legislative Assembly for the first time in the year of 1977.Manoj kumar the nephew and son of mana bhai is anti congress
