Geography

Kalakada is located at coord|13.8167|N|78.8000|E|. [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/2/Kalakada.html Falling Rain Genomics.Kalakada] ] It has an average elevation of 465 meters (1528 feet)kalakada is a small village with a population of around 18,000 in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The village is famous for its huge tomato market, which supplies tons of tomatoes to other Districts & states in india like Tamil Nadu, karnataka & Kerala.

Politics

Kalakada mandal has always played an important role in the politics of Vayalpad constituency (now Piler constituency)since the beginning. It is a well known factFact|date=August 2008 that the fate of an MLA in this constituency is decided by the people of kalakada mandal. This mandal has given rise to prominent persons like Vangimalla Kalpalatha Reddy from Errakotapalli who was the first lady Samithi President(Equivalent to MLA) who succeeded her late husband V.Srinivasa Reddy who was also an samithi president. After V.Kalpalatha Reddy renounced politics, she passed on the baton to other polital families of the same constituency namely Nallari and Chinthala from Kalikiri and Vayalpad mandals respectively. The entry of V.Venkat kumar Reddy(son of Kalpalatha Reddy) saw the re-emergence of the Vangimalla family into the active political circle.

And its very suitable place for growing nuts and Rice there is having around 15 mills of rice and ground nuts. They will supply to overal Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Maharastra. Surrounding almost there are 30+ small small villages where the people all depends on farming.
