television station in Atlanta, owned byWord of God Fellowship . Broadcasting from the Bank of America Plaza (coord|33|46|15|N|84|23|10|W|display=inline,title) inmidtown Atlanta , itscity of license isFayetteville, Georgia , a significant distance beyond its coverage area. It is anaffiliate of Daystar.Originally W22AH on channel 22, it was licensed in 1988 to
Columbus, Georgia , over 100km away. The station changed to channel 53 and became W53BR in the early 1990s, and later moved northeast intometro Atlanta around 1995, becoming WDTA-LP in 2001.Because all stations are being forced from channels above 51, the station had a
construction permit for channel 28, and an application to modify their permit for a much stronger upgrade on channel 50. This application has now been approved as a construction permit, and will move the station antenna a few blocks south intodowntown Atlanta to become the first broadcaster on theSunTrust Plaza (One Peachtree Center) building (coord|33|45|45|N|84|23|14|W).It will also give it an omnidirectional
broadcast range , as opposed to its currentcardioid directional antenna with a sharp null in itsradiation pattern to the northwest. WDTA-LP has been granted class A status, and will become WDTA-CA once the change happens. Its new city of license will be Atlanta.Additionally, the licensee has applied for a digital facility on channel 47 from the same building, but only at 2kW, equivalent to only 10kW analog. The station's
effective radiated power is currently 112kW on 53, and will be 150kW withbeam tilt (116kW in thehorizontal plane ) on 50. Being at the same height, it appears that both the analog and digitaltransmitter s will bediplex ed into the same antenna.External links
