The team was founded in 1926 in the
Prosfygika neighbourhood. The football club entered theEPS Achaias and played many matches againstPanachaiki ,APS Olympiacos ,Patraikos andThyella . The area was in the Olympiacos Patras arena, today'sProsfygika stadium.The football team was later dissolved and today Apollon is mainly a basketball team , KAE Apollon Patras. It is a regular member of the Greek Basketball First Division (
A1 Ethniki ), participated in the European cups and played theGreek basketball Cup final in 1997, losing the trophy byOlympiacos BC (78-80). The club is named after the Greek godApollo and its colour is black and white.Achievements
