Fergus Gordon Kerr

The Revd Fergus Gordon Thomson Kerr, OP, DD, FRSE (born 16 July 1931) is a Scottish Roman Catholic priest, academic and writer.

He is the Director of the Aquinas Institute, Blackfriars, Oxford. He was educated at Banff Academy and the University of Aberdeen (MA, DD), entered the Order of Preachers in 1956 following his service in the RAF (1953 - 1955) and was ordained in 1962.

He belongs to the Catholic Theological Society of Great Britain, of which he was President from 1992- 1994.

Academic career

He studied in Paris, Munich, and at Oxford; taught philosophy and theology at Oxford from 1966 - 1986. He was Prior at Blackfriars, Oxford from 1969 - 1978 and at Blackfriars, Edinburgh from 1992 - 1998

He was Regent at Blackfriars, Oxford from 1998 - 2004

He is an Honorary Professor at the University of St Andrews 2005 - present.

He is also an honorary fellow of New College, University of Edinburgh.
