- Fergus Gordon Kerr
The Revd Fergus Gordon Thomson Kerr, OP, DD, FRSE (born
16 July 1931 ) is a Scottish Roman Catholic priest, academic and writer.He is the Director of the
Aquinas Institute ,Blackfriars, Oxford . He was educated at Banff Academy and theUniversity of Aberdeen (MA, DD), entered theOrder of Preachers in 1956 following his service in theRAF (1953 - 1955) and was ordained in 1962.He belongs to the Catholic Theological Society of Great Britain, of which he was President from 1992- 1994.
Academic career
He studied in
Paris ,Munich , and at Oxford; taughtphilosophy andtheology at Oxford from 1966 - 1986. He wasPrior atBlackfriars, Oxford from 1969 - 1978 and atBlackfriars, Edinburgh from 1992 - 1998He was Regent at Blackfriars, Oxford from 1998 - 2004
He is an Honorary Professor at the University of St Andrews 2005 - present.
He is also an honorary fellow of New College, University of Edinburgh.
